Welcome Falcon students and families to Fife Elementary School this 2022-2023 school year! I am proud and grateful to support this unique and special school in the Fife School District and to serve our dedicated and inspiring staff, kind and curious students, and generous and involved families and community members.
At Fife Elementary School, we offer a K-5 sound curriculum in all academic areas, exceptional instructional strategies, and resources to meet the needs and styles of our 800+ diverse learners. Each student will be challenged to achieve based on individual strengths and areas of growth and through small group instruction and interventions built into the school day. Students will discover new areas of interest and excitement in Music, Art, Physical Education, S.K.I.P. (Social, Kinetic Interactive Play) and Library, as well. Our social-emotional supports are interactive and strategically planned throughout our daily classroom morning meetings and during the school day with support and guidance from our counselors, teachers and administrators. We also provide a sound PBIS (Positive, Behavior, Intervention, System) that teaches, supports, and promotes a proactive and positive learning environment.
Fife Elementary offers many after school enrichment opportunities such as jump rope, volleyball, robotics, knitting and much more. Additionally, we encourage you to connect with us and other families through joining and volunteering with our Fife Falcon PTO and in your child’s classroom. Communicate with your child’s teachers and participate in school activities such as Family Fun Nights, Literacy Nights and School Performances. Investing in and championing your child’s education and personal growth this year is imperative and can be done by talking with your child about daily learning challenges, experiences, reading, researching and exploring together as a family.
The Fife Elementary Falcon family recognizes how critical it is to belong to a safe and supportive community which champions the gifts and contributions of each unique individual and honors diverse backgrounds, values and perspectives. We are committed to recognizing, learning about, supporting one another, and to preparing our students to learn, work, and thrive as citizens in our community.
Lastly, I am Amy Mittelstaedt, your principal at Fife Elementary School! This will be my 23rd year in education, as a classroom teacher for 10 years and as an administrator for 13 years. My experiences working with students range from grades K to 9th grade. I hold a BA in Early Childhood Education (CWU), Masters in Curriculum Instruction (Lesley University) and hold my Administrative Credentials from (CWU). I am a proud educator, community member and parent to the Fife School District. I have a supportive husband of 21 years and two beautiful children who also attend Fife Schools. We are a family that believes in the work that Fife Public Schools offers and are grateful to be a part of this journey!.
